नमस्ते, Hallo, Hola and Salama!! Finally, we are in our host district, Telemark. No more shuffling of luggage and backpacks here and there. They have found their own place in Hagmannsgata 4, Porsgrunn. Last month had been full of trainings, practical information and workshops. Time really flies fast when one has fun. Now, we are dispersed in our host districts and excited to start the next phase in the exchange.
We are getting to be a part of something new and exciting in Telemark. Porsgrunn Røde Kors Ungdom has started new social arena “Henrys Hus”. The place is getting together and the volunteers are leaving no leaves unturned to officially open it on 14th October. We got a peek-a-boo of Henrys Hus and it is going to be the coolest place for youths in Porsgrunn. We were surprised to see how volunteers in the Henrys Hus were fixing all the pieces of furniture by themselves. In Nepal, we use readymade furniture. It was completely new for us. There were woods in big boxes, some nails, screw and an instruction guide. When you follow the instruction, it is as easy as ABC. At first, we struggled quite a bit but at the end of the day we were like a pro (not really). But, it is never too late for learning some practical skills.
Stay tune with us in our journey for the next 9 months.धन्यवाद!!
