On 24th of November, Bærum Red Cross arranged the Red Cross International Food Festival. Participants from Norsktrenning were asked to make a dish from their country. The invitation was spread to volunteers, refugee guide couple, participants in the Refugee Program for Refugees and to the Refugee Office. During the day, there were altogether 80 people and food from Eritrea, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Norway, Vietnam, East Turkmenistan and Kurdish food from 12 noon to 4 pm.

We participated in the biggest international food festival along with other youth volunteers of Baerum where we helped in providing information to visiters, managing tables and chairs, and serving the food and drink to the people. We experienced and celebrated the smells, tastes, and sounds from around the world. The food was amazing with amazing people and a special culture. We got chance to learn typical food from around the world. The entire festival was geared to attract international food tourists to experience diverse culinary scene.

This program helped an opportunity to showcase their skills, initiatives and products. They also got a chance to bring new knowledge to the table and gives centre focus in the form of new experiences in emphasising traditional food.
